This port is poised to become a key international shipping hub for Ho Chi Minh City and the surrounding region. The projected cargo volume through the Can Gio International Transshipment Port is impressive, with forecasts indicating it will reach 4.8 million TEU by 2030 and a substantial 16.9 million TEU by 2047.
 
The construction of the Can Gio International Transshipment Port is expected to significantly benefit Vietnam's economy.
