After nearly two years since construction resumed, the Binh Khanh cable-stayed bridge — one of the key components of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway — has surpassed 93% completion and is expected to be finished and put into operation by September 2025. The project had previously been suspended for five years and only officially restarted at the end of October 2023. Immediately following the resumption, contractors urgently proceeded with the remaining works, continuing balanced cantilever construction and cable installation to meet the planned schedule.

The Binh Khanh Bridge features a modern cable-stayed design with two main spans of 375 meters crossing the Soai Rap River, supported by two 155-meter-high pylons. The foundation employs steel pipe piles to ensure structural stability. The clearance under the bridge reaches 55 meters, allowing large vessels to pass through with ease. To date, construction teams have completed 15 out of 18 bridge segments and are actively working on the remaining ones. The project is now entering the finishing phase, with maximum mobilization of manpower and equipment.

Upon completion, the Binh Khanh Bridge will be a crucial link connecting the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway with the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway, contributing to the enhancement of the interregional transport network in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces. The bridge will also play a key role in the development of transportation in Nha Be District, alleviating pressure on the existing road system and promoting economic and social development in the southern part of Ho Chi Minh City. The Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation (VEC) stated that, in addition to urgently working to complete the Binh Khanh Bridge, the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway project will have more than 33 kilometers of road put into operation before April 30, 2025.
